Thank you to Shunk Furniture in Marquette!
Judy needed to replace her beautiful sofa and love seat. She wanted to donate the furniture to the Women's Center resale shop, Pak Ratz. When Shunk Furniture delivered her new items, they generously agreed to deliver the donated items to Pack Ratz! It is a Win-Win-Win for all parties!
Thanks to all involved for sharing in a way that will help families in Alger and Marquette counties.
Huge thank you to all the people that supported our 2nd annual 100 Good Men Campaign. Thank you to our sponsors: The Mining Journal, Radio Results Network, & WLUC TV6.

The M.E. Davenport Foundation of Grand Rapids is supporting the Women's Center with a $105,000 grant that includes a $45,000 matching gift opportunity. Foundation Trustee Mary Sullivan presented the first installment to the Women’s Center on Thursday, May 26.
“Our ability to truly affect the lives of abused women and their children is very much tied to our ability to help them feel safe, to put a roof over their heads, and to assure them they do not need to fear where their next meal will come from,” said Women's Center Executive Director Beth Casady. “No one can focus on life changing decisions and actions if their and their children's basic needs aren't met. Harbor House is our community's answer to this first crucial step in helping to create lives free of violence.”
A HUGE thank you and shout out to the women of the Dead River Derby for once again donating a portion of their yearly calendar sales to the Women's Center.
